If you have grown-up children or other people living with you, make sure they are paying enough towards the household bills.
Check with your local tax office that you have the right tax code in case you are paying too much tax. Check whether you can claim tax relief on work-related expenses (for example essential tools you need to do your job).
If you have children, make sure you are claiming Child Benefit and Child Maintenance if this applies. You could also see whether any assessment for Child Maintenance you have had can be changed.
Check whether your loans are covered by insurance. (You may find this information on your original agreement or contact the company who gave you your loan. If you are covered by insurance ask for a claim form or details of how to make a claim).
