Kayley from Kingshurst

“I have always lived within North Solihull with my parents and sisters, but I became a sole tenant in December 2012. I am very proud of my little home and take pride in it.

In the past I have worked within the care and support industry. I learnt and developed, moving up through different roles and grasping new opportunities. I have been a support coordinator for young homeless aged 16-25 years old. I also progressed and become the manager of a supported housing scheme for young people. Unfortunately, the funding was cut so I moved on to be a support coordinator for people with severe mental health.

I thoroughly loved these jobs and helping people but an opportunity came up to work with SCH and I went for it and was successful. I have been working for SCH now since December 2017 and I am very happy here.

Since working at SCH I have taken part in many charity fundraising events from Macmillan Coffee Mornings to fancy dress and sports days. I have also raised money for a friend in need by climbing mount Snowdon with my team at SCH. This was a fantastic experience with such beautiful views but probably the hardest thing I have ever completed.

In my role I offer support to families, friends, colleagues and neighbours where ever I can. I help them with online forms, interview preparation or generally confidence and self-esteem issues. I am passionate about helping others.

At the moment I am enjoying exercising and eating well. I am going to attending a boot camp and the end of August to get myself in shape! It will be hard work but I am looking forward to it.”
