Civil Service Jobs Application Support and Customer Service bundle (online course)

Please find details below of the Civil Service Jobs Application Support online course that JobSkills at BMet are offering in conjunction with Sparkhill JCP, designed to support applicants across all Civil Service vacancies.

It is an eight day online training course – which includes an accredited Customer Service qualification, access to Microsoft Office and tailored support from a designated personal tutor.

Sigma Finance SWAP – Customer Advisor Roles (online course)

Please find details below of the Sigma Finance SWAP for Customer Advisor Roles. Sigma is a thriving, Birmingham City Centre based contact centre that are looking to recruit new Customer Advisor’s to work on behalf of their clients’ in delivering excellent customer service for their customers in areas such as debt-recovery, outbound dialling campaigns and much more! Since January 2016, the SWAP has helped secure employment for over 650 candidates, all of whom have benefited from Sigma’s competitive starting salary, vast progression opportunities and energetic working environment.

JobSkills at BMet will be working with Sigma in offering a bespoke three-week ONLINE pre-employment training programme (9am-4pm), designed to prepare candidates for work within a contact centre environment. This will include accredited qualifications in Customer Service, access to Microsoft Office and tailored support from a designated personal tutor. Successful candidates will then progress onto a one-week ONLINE work experience placement with Sigma (9am-6pm). Candidates that successfully navigate both elements (pre-employment training and work experience) will then be offered a guaranteed job interview. Further details may be found below:

Candidates must:
• Have good written and verbal communication skills, good typing skills and a positive, customer-friendly personality
• Be unemployed and in receipt of a benefit such as JSA or UC (this course is unfortunately not available to part-time, self-employed or furloughed workers)
• Be 19+ as of 31st August 2021 and have lived in the UK for the past three years
• Have suitable IT capabilities, such as internet connection and computer/laptop with a webcam
• Provide appropriate photographic ID such as passport or driving license

L2 Railway Engineering Track Maintenance (classroom-based course)

Please find details below of the recently relaunched L2 Railway Engineering Track Maintenance course. JobSkills at BMet will be offering a 5 week course including practical delivery at James Watt College, designed to introduce learners to the railway environment, whilst providing an insight into the various job roles to supports them in gaining access to the industry. The railway infrastructure requires maintenance, renewal work, enhancement and construction of new capacity, yet there is a severe skills shortage to meet the demands of new projects, so now is the perfect time to start! I have attached the flyer which contains further information.

BMet will support candidates in achieving a Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Rail Engineering Track Maintenance, which will prove competence of industrial, performance, knowledge and understanding and recognise the ability of individuals working in traction and rolling stock within the rail sector. Pending successful completion of the course, BMet will also fund PTS (Personal Track Safety) and TIC (Track Induction course) – both of which are vital prerequisite safety cards when finding work on the tracks.
